Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 The WolfPack jumped ahead early for their first conference win in a 10-7 victory over the Triton College Trojans in River Grove, IL on Saturday, before getting narrowly beat 1-2 in the second game of the doubleheader. Madison College left Illinois with a record of 10-5 overall and 1-1 in conference action.
Madison College scored six runs in the first inning of game one, and was led by
Ryan McShane who finished 3-for-4 and
Vincent Schmitz who was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored.
Jake Page,
Jon Dybevik, and
Josh Rowles all drove in two runs as Madison College pushed across 10 runs on 13 hits in support of starter
Shane Adler. Adler, who pitched the first six innings, struckout three and allowed three earned runs as he improved to 1-1 on the year after the 10-7 win.
The second game started of similar for the 'Pack as they got on the board right away with a solo run on
Treysen Vavra's RBI single that plated
Ryan McShane. McShane led off the game with a single to rightfield, but the two first inning hits and the run was all the WolfPack offense could muster as they only managed three more hits in the game. Starter
Danny Sullivan gave up one run in four and a third innings while striking out two, before the WolfPack bullpen allowed Triton to sneak out the 2-1 win with a run in the seventh inning.
The 10-5 WolfPack are right back at it later this week as they travel to Grayslake, IL to face the College of Lake County in a doubleheader on Thursday, April 5. The first game of the doubleheader starts at 2:00 PM.
