WolfPack Softball Team Gets Second Straight Win Over Anoka-Ramsey

Box Score One day after picking up their first victory of the 2012 season, the Madison College softball team struck again on Monday. The WolfPack knocked off Anoka-Ramsey Community College for a second straight time, winning 11-9.

The WolfPack started strong against the Rams, getting six runs within the first three innings, to jump out to a big lead. In the first, the team got RBI from Amber Clifcorn, Lindsey Reno, Jessica Schieldt, and Shelby Wollin. Then in the third Anoka-Ramsey walked in a run prior to a Madison Milsap sac fly to center which scored Jessica Schieldt.

The Rams would rally back, scoring eight runs combined in the next three innings, but would still come up short. Madison College came up with two huge runs in the eighth frame,  an Amber Clifcorn single to left driving in Madison Milsap and Brittany Kaltenberg, to preserve the victory.

The WolfPack finished the game with 18 hits, 11 runs, and three errors. Meanwhile, the Rams had nine runs on nine hits, along with four errors.

Marissa Shaner picked up the win on the mound for the 'Pack. Shaner, who pitched the game's final two and one-third innings, gave up zero hits and just one earned run.

The victory improves Madison College to 2-4 overall on the season.
