Madison College Falls to #5 Ranked Monroe CC

Box Score After giving up five runs in the first inning, the Madison College Women settled in and played tough against the #5 nationally ranked Monroe Community College Tribunes.  The WolfPack outhit Monroe but ended up losing, 13-8.

The WolfPack gave up five runs on five hits and two errors in the first inning and then calmed down giving up just two runs over the next five innings.  Madison College hit well posting 15 hits on the game and scoring runs in each of the final five innings including three runs in the fifth.  Monroe's six run outburst in the seventh inning proved costly and the WolfPack fell 13-8 for their fourth loss of the season.

Brittany Kaltenberger went 4-for-5 and scored two runs while shortstop Courtney Ullmer went 3-for-5 with three RBIs.  Second year starter, Kassandra Kluge had two hits in four at-bats and six other WolfPack players had one hit as Madison College recorded 15 hits to Monroe's 13.  Samantha Schuchardt pitched a complete game, striking out four and walking four.  She gave up 10 earned runs with 39 batters faced.

The WolfPack are set to face Anoka-Ramsey Community College at 1:30 PM this afternoon in their second game of the day.
