The Madison College men's basketball team is proving that timing is everything as they defeated the Harper College Hawks 98-85 in Palatine, IL for their second consecutive victory. The 'Pack stormed out to a 49-39 lead at the break after shooting 51.4 percent from the field (18-35), including four of eight from three-point range. The hot first half shooting was a sign of good things to come as Madison College again put 49 points on the board in the second half after shooting an incredible 54.8 percent from the field. Overall, the WolfPack shot 53 percent (35-66) from two-point range and 50 percent from beyond the arc. The team also executed from the charity strip as they knocked down 22 of their 28 free throws in 13 point victory.
Garrett Borgrud backed up the old adage and led the team with a season high 42 points and 16 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. The sophomore from Deerfield shot 14-21 from the field and made his presence felt on the defensive end too with a team high three blocks. Fellow sophomores

Tyler Kowalkowski (12) finished right behind Borgrud on offense, and freshman
Santiago Silva made it four WolfPack that reached double figures as he finished with 11 points. Kowalkowski almost recorded a double-double as well as he finished with 9 assists.
The back-to-back late season victories gives the 'Pack nine wins on the year with one regular season game remaining on the docket. A win over Triton College at home this Saturday will give the WolfPack ten wins and three in a row heading into the NJCAA Region IV Quarterfinals on February 29. The final regular season game against the Triton College Trojans tips-off at 3:00 PM in the H. Douglas Redsten Gym on the Madison College campus.
