After a high scoring four set match victory (25-18, 25-17, 26-28, 25-14) over the College of DuPage Chaparrals this past Wednesday, the Madison College volleyball team moves on to face another familiar foe in their second playoff game of the 2012 season this Saturday. The WolfPack travel to Rockford, IL for the start of the NJCAA Region IV Tournament and play the Harper College Hawks in their opening game at 12:00 PM on October 27.
Madison College tied for and claimed a share of the N4C conference title with Harper College (Saturday's opening round opponent) and the Rock Valley College Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, the 'Pack lost both match-ups with the Harper Hawks during the season, so Saturday's match marks the third and most important meeting with one of Tri-Champions of the N4C. In the two early season losses with Harper, Madison College dropped their opening match in five sets on August 28 in a Parent's Night contest in Madison. The Hawks won the first and third sets, before the visitors won the match by taking the last game 15-13. The second meeting on September 25 between the two teams wasn't nearly as contested, as Harper swept the 'Pack in three sets (21-25, 17-25, 22-25) in Palatine, IL.
With a win over the Harper College Hawks, the WolfPack will advance to play Rock Valley College or Joliet Junior College at 2:00 PM on that same day, and move one step closer to an appearance in the NJCAA Division III National Championship in Rochester, MN in early November.
