2012 VB Team

Madison College Volleyball Claims Share of Conference Title

The WolfPack volleyball team won their final N4C conference match of the season last night in River Grove, IL in three sets (25-13, 25-16, 25-19) to improve to 19-4 overall and 10-2 in N4C play. The conference win puts the 'Pack in a three-way tie with Rock Valley College and Harper College atop the N4C standings, and gives the WolfPack a share of the 2012 N4C Volleyball Conference Title. The conference crown for the volleyball team is their first as a member of the N4C, with the team's most recent conference title coming in 2008, as a member of Wisconsin Technical College Conference (WTCC).

Interestingly enough, the three-way tie could not be broken since neither team possessed the tie-breaker in head to head competition. Harper College did defeat Madison College in both meetings to give the Harper Hawks the advantage over Madison, but Madison College won both matches versus Rock Valley College…a team Harper had lost to twice during the 2012 season.

In the all-important win over Triton that gave the WolfPack a share of the N4C title, several members of the 'Pack played instrumental roles in the dominating three set win. Danielle Crawford (9 kills), Dallas Iverson (5 service aces), and Alexis Semrow (20 assists) led the team in three very important offensive categories. Vanessa Clarson and Semrow contributed on the defensive side of the court with one block and 11 digs respectively.

With a share of the N4C conference title in tow, the Madison College volleyball team has the day off before traveling to Dubuque, IA for a match with the Clarke University junior varsity team. The meeting against the NCAA NCAA DIII Crusaders starts at 5:00 PM.
