Looking for the first conference win, the Madison College softball team was taken down in a doubleheader 9-1 and 12-1 by the Triton College Trojans in N4C action Friday evening.
In game one, the Trojans built a 9-0 before Amanda Helgesen got the WolfPack on the board with a fifth inning RBI double that plated Kate Jonas. Kassandra Kluge was the pitcher of record for the WolfPack. She fell to 1-6 on the year.
Game two proved to be more of the same for the WolfPack, as Triton tacked on five runs in the first and five in the third before Madison College scored a run of their own to close the gap. Athena Brabant drove in Amber Clifcorn with a fourth inning double before the Trojans added two runs in the bottom of the frame for 12-1 win. Brabant finished the game 2-for-2 with an RBI. Tena Funmaker picked up the loss for the WolfPack. She is now 0-3 on the year.
The Madison College softball team (1-13, 0-4) travels to Palatine, IL to take on the Harper College Hawks tomorrow afternoon. The first game of the doubleheader starts at 3:00 PM.
