The Madison College softball team dropped two conference games against the Rock Valley Community College Eagles 11-4 and 8-4 at Hitters Sportsplex in Middleton, WI.
In game one the WolfPack took the early lead by plating three runs in the third after Rock Valley put one on the board in the first. The Eagles from Rock Valley then got after starter Tena Funmaker scoring 10 runs over the last four innings for the 11-4 win over the home team.
Jessica Spern led the team at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored. Both Heather Hornback and Amber Clifcorn went 1-for-4 in the first game with a RBI.
The second game of the doubleheader started off similar for the WolfPack as the took the early 2-1 lead after the first inning in support of starter Jessica Spern before the Eagles ran away with the game. Madison did add runs in the bottom of the third and fifth innings, but the damage was too much to overcome. Kaley Dorshorst and Athena Brabant both finished 3-for-4, and Dorshorst scored once while Brabant crossed the plate twice. Amber Clifcorn and Sarah Ksicinski each added two hits and drove in a run.
Due to the inclement weather, Madison College's next games on April 26 will also be played at Hitters Sportsplex in Middleton. The first game of the doubleheader starts 3:00 PM
