Chalk up a fourth straight North Central Community College Conference series sweep for Madison College. The WolfPack, breaking out the brooms against Rock Valley Saturday afternoon with 10-0 and 3-2 victories, has now won nine straight N4C contests.
In game one, the 'Pack needed just one big inning to rout the Golden Eagles. Madison College tallied ten runs in the bottom of the second, and never looked back picking up the 10-0 mercy in five innings.
Trevor Burmeister led the WolfPack offense with three RBI, all of which came off a triple down the left field line in the second inning.
Kyle Coenen picked up the victory on the bump for the WolfPack. Coenen, threw four scoreless innings and did not surrender a single hit.
Game two played out much differently for the WolfPack. Madison, needing a game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to emerge victorious. Tied at two entering the final frame,
Tanner Vavra scored all the way from first base after a costly Golden Eagles error.
Next up, the WolfPack (25-8, 9-1) squares off with Elgin Community College on Tuesday, April 26th. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.
