The Madison College softball team lost game one of a doubleheader against the Harper College Hawks 12-4 before a severe thunderstorm in the Madison area led to the cancellation of game two. The conference loss drops the WolfPack to 1-22 overall and 0-11 in N4C play.

Harper College plated four runs in the first and the WolfPack answered right back with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame after Amber Clifcorn's RBI single scored Kaley Dorshorst. Up 4-1 the Harper Hawks broke the game open with eight runs in the next four innings off of starter Kassandra Kluge before the WolfPack did their best to get back into it with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Down12-1, Sarah Ksicinski and Amanda Helgesen registered back-to-back one out singles to get the comeback attempt started. After the Hawks recorded another out, Jessica Spern laced a triple for two RBI and Spern scored when Clifcorn reached on an error before the third out was recorded and Madison dropped another game 12-4.

Jessica Spern led the WolfPack at the plate. She finished 1-for-1 with her RBI triple and scored a run and replaced Kluge on the mound.

After Saturday's home doubleheader was cancelled, next up for the WolfPack is Sunday's doubleheader against Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL.
