Mary Hersheberger held the Hawks to no runs and just four hits in her first shutout for Madison College.

The WolfPack got some revenge in the second game of the doubleheader against Harper College. They shutout the Hawks 5-0 after losing a 14-11 battle in the first game.
The WolfPack scored a season-high 11 runs in their loss in the first game. The WolfPack trailed 8-6 entering the game's final inning. They put up five runs in the top of the seventh to take their first lead of the game.
Jenna Brown started out the seventh inning with a single and her teammates followed suit. There were six singles in the inning, resulting in five runs.
Carly Meisel had two RBIs while
Jamie Nolan and
Morgan Lass each also drove in a run.
After the huge offensive effort, Harper College came back in the bottom of the seventh to score six runs to pull ahead and get the win.
Nolan finished the game going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Jami Ryan gave up 14 runs, but six were of those were earned runs. She also struck out four batters.
In the 5-0 shutout,
Mary Hershberger threw a gem. She really cooled off the Hawks' bats that were hitting the ball well in the first game. She gave up just four hits and struck out five batters.
Hershberger retired the first eight batters she faced.
The offense was backed by
Jenna Brown's 3-for-4 performance. She drove in three of the five WolfPack runs.
Heather Hornback chipped in by hitting a triple and scoring a run.
The WolfPack hope to build off of their performance in Palatine, IL. They are looking to pick up some momentum as the regular season is coming to an end.
