The WolfPack bats had plenty of pop when they traveled to Chicago to face Olive Harvey College on April 27. They scored 29 runs on 25 hits in the doubleheader.
Madison College (34-7) and the Panthers were knotted at 0-0 stalemate through two innings. It was the top of the third inning where the WolfPack bats got going.
Justin Scanlon and
Kyle Van Abel combined for seven RBIs in the first game.
Parker Schrage was nearly unhittable in Chicago. He gave up just two hits and held the Panthers scoreless in five innings of work. He also struck out four batters and improved to 3-0.
In the second game, the WolfPack put up 11 runs in the second inning alone en route to the 18-2 crushing defeat of the Panthers. The inning was highlighted by a
Luke Marwitz triple that cleared the bases.
Brent Kakwitch was a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate and had five RBIs in the game.
Jordan Chardukian added four RBIs of his own on 2-of-3 hitting.
Three WolfPack pitchers played in the second game and they shutdown the Olive Harvey bats for the second straight game.
Quintin Zander started the game and improved to 4-2 on the season. He lasted three innings and gave up two runs while striking out two batters.
Andy Stochl and
Chevy Tollefson each pitched an inning of relief and neither pitcher allowed a hit.
