The WolfPack softball team allowed five first-inning runs to Triton College in both games of the doubleheader and wasn't able to recover from the early deficit in either game falling to the Lady Trojans 8-3 and 5-3.
In the first game after giving up two runs in the first inning to Triton, the WolfPack battled back with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning. The Triton bats were active in the game's first six innings and they scored at least one run in each inning during that span.
In the bottom of the fourth inning Madison College cut the lead to 5-3.
Jenna Brown kept the WolfPack in the game with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate including a double and an RBI.
Mary Hershberger pitched six innings for the WolfPack and gave up 13 hits while striking out five Lady Trojans.
Much like the first game, the WolfPack were unable to climb out of an early 3-0 hole. They were down 4-0 at the start of the bottom of the second inning and they rallied to score two runs, but were unable to get any closer than that in the 5-3 loss.

Jami Ryan all went 2-for-3 in the game. They accounted for six of the WolfPack's eight hits.
Jami Ryan lasted all seven innings, giving up 12 hits while striking out two Lady Trojans.
