The WolfPack (22-4) traveled to Grayslake, IL where they took on the College of Lake County Lancers and beat them twice, 9-6 and 11-6. The Lancers were ranked just outside of the top 15 teams in Division II coming into the contest.

With the victory, Madison College extended its winning streak to six games, with the Lancers being their highest-ranked opponent during that stretch.

The WolfPack managed just four hits through the first four innings of play and found themselves in a 6-0 hole to start the fifth inning. Then the bats came alive. They scored five runs on six hits to get right back in the game. Kevin Wild got things going with a single to center field. He then ran to third after a failed pick off attempt by the Lancers. After a Tanner Vavra# single, Wild scored and put the WolfPack on the board. Four hits and an error later, the WolfPack found themselves down by just one.

Coach Mike Davenport went to his bullpen to start the fifth inning. MItch Arens came in and struck out the first batter he faced and then walked the next two batters. The second out of the inning came when a Lancer got caught stealing third. After another walk, Wild came in to pitch and got the final out of the inning.

The top of the sixth inning started in a similar fashion as the fifth. Wild got on base and was batted in by Vavra. The Wolfpack scored two runs in the inning and took the lead for good.

Josh Jaro pitched the final two innings for the WolfPack and didn't allow College of Lake County to score any runs. He picked up his first save of the season in the process.

The second game featured another come-from-behind win for Madison College. They trailed 4-1 early and used a five-run third inning to capture the lead. The big inning started with a Justin Scanlon walk and he scored on a Brett Sweger single. That run was followed by back-to-back triples by Kendall Frank and Kyle Van Abel.

In the fourth inning Brent Kakwitch continued to hit the deep ball well as he got his fourth home run in three games.

Tyler Jones settled in after the second inning and pitched all six innings for Madison College. He gave up five earned runs and struck out seven batters as he improved to 4-0 on the season.

The WolfPack welcome Milwaukee Area Technical College and Sauk Valley Community College on April 17 and 18 to Robin Roberts Field for two doubleheaders.
