Madison College entered the fourth inning of the first game in a 0-0 tie with Highland Community College. That changed quickly after scoring seven runs in the inning in their 11-0 win.
Justin Hunt and
Kendall Frank got things started with a pair of singles. They each scored after a
Brett Sweger triple to right field. The team scored a total of seven runs on eight hits and batted through the order, ending the inning on a
Frank pop-up.
The WolfPack got a quality five-inning start from
Richard Hanke (2-0). He allowed two hits, no runs, no walks and struck out three batters.
Parker Schrage came in for an inning of relief and allowed no hits, while striking out one batter.
Madison College wasted no time in the second game, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. They only had six hits in the 7-2 victory.
The pitching staff gave up 10 hits in seven innings, but were able to hold Highland to just two runs.
Chevy Tollefson picked up his first win of the season (1-0). He went five innings and gave up no runs while striking out four.
Josh Jaro came in for two innings of relief and gave up two runs, while striking out three batters.
