Jones Pitches Well, WolfPack Bats Stay Hot

Madison College earned their fifth straight win and the doubleheader sweep of Morton College as second year righthander Tyler Jones pitched a complete game giving up just one run on five hits over seven innings of work.  The WolfPack won 9-1 in the second game of their doubleheader against Morton College at Chain of Lakes Park in Winterhaven, FL as Jones struck out nine batters on his way to his second win of the season.

Former Middleton H.S. standout, Garrett Novinski went 4-for-4, scoring three runs and earned one RBI.  Three WolfPack players including Justin Hunt, Kyle Van Abel and Kevin Wild each posted two RBIs and Brett Sweger (2-for-3) and Justin Scanlon (2-for-5) each recorded two hits.  Madison College scored two runs in the first inning and three runs in the second and fourth inning to lead 8-0 after four innings complete.  The teams each had one run in the fifth and Madison College earned their fifth straight win to start the season.
