The WolfPack Men only trailed by six points heading into halftime against visiting NJCAA Division I Sauk Valley Community College but fell apart in the second half to lose 85-61. The Skyhawks led by as much as 36 points in the second half as the WolfPack allowed 55 second half points in the loss.
Despite shooting just 29% from the field and going 0-for-11 from beyond the arc in the first half the WolfPack hung around. In the second half, the visiting Skyhawks shot a blistering 55% from the field and Madison College turnovers and poor shooting hurt the WolfPack. Madison College had 20 turnovers and was a combined 2-for-23 from three-point land on the game.
Second year transfers,
Aaron Jones and
Corey Yahnke each had 17 points to lead the WolfPack. Yahnke was 9-for-9 from the free throw line while Jones attempted 21 shots making eight. First year Deerfield athlete,
Garrett Borgrud, also added eight points and seven rebounds as the WolfPack fell to 2-3 overall.
The Madison College Men travel to Highland Community College in Freeport, IL, on Tuesday, November 23 to play a 7:00 PM game.
