The Madison College women's volleyball team completed their second season in the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) with a win over Triton College 25-13, 25-12, 25-14. The WolfPack finished in second place with a conference record of 10-2.
The first-year players for the WolfPack came to play against the Trojans in River Grove, Ill.
Hannah Schwartzer served up a season-high eight aces for the WolfPack in the road win. It was also a big day for setter
Kirsten Halma, who put up 27 assists.
Defensively, Callie Dahl did a good job of getting under the ball with a team-high eight digs. Fellow first-year player
Kate Jonas blocked two Trojan shots for the WolfPack.
Hilary Frey was active offensively for the WolfPack, leading the team with 10 kills. The WolfPack were dominant in all aspects of the game against the Trojans, whom they defeated for the second time this season in three sets.
The WolfPack cruised the majority of the N4C this season. In their 10 conference wins this season, the WolfPack won all 30 sets they played in. In their two conference losses, both to Rock Valley College, the WolfPack won one set and lost six.
The WolfPack open up NJCAA Region IV Tournament play on Oct. 27 against Milwaukee Area Technical College in Madison at 6:00 p.m. The Stormers fell to the WolfPack in three sets twice this season, but the two teams haven't played in a month, with the last meeting coming on Sept. 27 in Milwaukee.
