WolfPack Come Back From 17 Point Deficit

Madison College lost their last two games by a total of five points against Rock Valley College and the #4 ranked team in the country, Joliet Junior College. The WolfPack were not going to lose another close game as they prevailed 82-77 over the host, Harper College.

The WolfPack trailed by as many as 17 in the first half and found themselves trailing 48-33 at halftime in Palatine, IL. Despite being down at halftime, the WolfPack came out strong to start the second half and got themselves right back in the game with a 9-2 run cutting the Hawks lead to eight.

Madison College tied the Hawks for the first time since midway through the first half at 60-60 with nine minutes and 55 seconds left in the game. The teams battled back-and-forth with Madison College taking the lead for good after a technical foul on the Hawks and a Sam Wilkinson (Mazomanie, WI, Wisconsin Heights ) free throw with two minutes and 22 seconds remaining in the game.

The WolfPack had trouble stopping the tandem of Brandon Bolger and Floyd Battle, who scored 28 and 22 respectively. The WolfPack limited the rest of the Hawks to just 27 points.

Wilkinson shot a perfect game, hitting all three of his shots and going 8-for-8 from the free throw line en route to scoring 14 points. The WolfPack bench was the difference maker in the game however outscoring the Hawks 41-12. Kort Frank (DeForest, WI, DeForest ) scored a team-high 21 points and Courtney Brown (Milwaukee, WI, Green Bay East ) scored a career-high 15 off the bench. With the win, Madison College improved to 2-4 in the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) and 10-9 overall.

Madison College continues their three-game road trip against College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL on Jan. 26 at 7:00 p.m.
