Madison College Wolfpack

RIVER GROVE, ILL. - Following 90 minutes of scoreless soccer in the women's match, the Madison College and Triton College men's teams duplicated the feat with a 0-0 draw Wednesday in a matchup of ranked teams and a rematch from last year's Region 4 championship. It's the fourth shutout for the #10-ranked WolfPack this season and the second clean sheet for freshman Thomas Randall. The Trojans, who entered the night ranked #19 in the NJCAA Division II Poll, boast a 24-9-2 lead in the all-time series.

Madison College controlled the action most of the match, resulting in an 11-5 advantage in total shots and a 5-0 edge in shots on goal. The first shot on goal by the visitors came just 7' into the contest from sophomore Josh Kiltz. Second year defender/midfielder Mason Leslie has his header turned away in the 15', and a third attempt off the boot of freshman Bryan Hernandez was denied in the 18'. 

In the second half, offense was at a premium until the final ten minutes when the WolfPak was able to generate their final looks at the goal. The Trojans goalkeeper, however, came up with saves on two headers off corner kicks, one by freshman Joe Hildal as the clock moved into the 84' and another by first year Owen Counsell.

Sophomore Josh Kiltz, a Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, native, led the Pack with four total shots, followed by two from Hernandez.

Madison College (4-1-2) is back home Saturday, September 26 to square off with Kankakee Community College (1-5-3) in a Region 4 battle before another three-match road swing. The WolfPack is 6-2 all-time against the Cavaliers. Kickoff at Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch - East is set for approximately 2:15 p.m. and can be streamed live at MadisonCollege.tv.
