Madison College Wolfpack

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, ILL. - Through five matches this season, the Madison College women's soccer team has outscored the opposition by a 28-7 differential after playing to a 6-0 victory on Saturday against Region 4 foe Prairie State College. Sophomore Hayleigh Motelet and freshman Roos Zwolschen each scored twice as the WolfPack defense held the Cyclones without a shot. Madison College is 2-0 all-time against the Pioneers.

Despite being in total control of the ball, Madison College was unable to find the net against Prairie State College (1-4) for the first 33 minutes of the match. That changed in the 34' when Motelet converted a pass from sophomore Amalia Molgard for her first goal of the season. Zwolschen, a first year midfielder/forward from the Netherlands, then posted back-to-back goals in the 40' and 43' to make it 3-0 at halftime. The first goal was assisted by Leslie De La Portilla, with Maddie Ludwig earning an assist on the second as Zwolschen pushed her season scoring total to five goals with her second mult-goal game.

In the second half, it again took the WolfPack some time to secure a goal, which came in the 65' off the foot of freshman Makenzie Roman. The second goal of the season from the midfielder/goalkeeper from Monona, Wisconsin, also netted Zwolschen an assist. Zwolschen dished out another assist for a six-point match with a pass to Motelet in the 70' to make it 5-0. Motelet's second goal of the match - and of the season - made it her first career game with multiple goals. The WolfPack capped the scoring right before the final whistles when sophomore Alexandra Leal, a defender from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, booted her first career goal off an assist from freshman Aubrey Reesman.

Madison College finished with a significant 43-0 advantage in total shots and a 29-0 margin in shots on goal. The shutout results in the second clean sheet for freshman goalkeeper Arabella Penfold.

The WolfPack has had seven multi-goal games so far this season.

Madison College (4-1-0) is back home on Wednesday, September 16 to play a rescheduled match against Southeastern Community College (1-5) on Wednesday, September 9. The WolfPack and Blackhawks, who have never played in women's soccer, were originally schedule to meet the previous Wednesday. Kickoff at Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch - East is set for approximately 4:00 p.m. and can be streamed live at MadisonCollege.tv.

The game is also Teacher/Staff Appreciation Day.
