Madison College Wolfpack

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, ILL. - One game after suffering their first loss of the season, sophomore Josh Kiltz stepped up for Madison College as they defeated Prairie State College by a 2-1 final in a Region 4 match Saturday. The sophomore midfielder/forward recorded his second career multi-goal performance just a year and two days removed from his first. The #11-ranked WolfPack and Pioneers are even through four all-time matches, with the Pack winning the last two meetings.

Kiltz, a native of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, put the WolfPack on the scoreboard first. A foul in the penalty area against Prairie State College (3-3-0) resulted in an 11' penalty kick for Kiltz, and he took advantage with a successful scoring strike for his first goal of the season. 

The lead held until the 38' when an assisted goal by the Pioneers beat sophomore goalkeeper Caylen Coventry and tied the match at 1-1. 

Early in the second half, Kiltz terminated the game-winner in the 52' as he secured a pass from midfielder/forward Gio Diaz and netted his seventh career goal for a 2-1 advantage. The assist for Diaz is his first of the season. 

Madison College dominated the ball the rest of the match, keeping PSC without a shot over the final 38 minutes. The WolfPack finished with a 10-5 edge in total shots, while both teams only put two shots on goal. Kiltz led the way with five total shots and the team's only two shots on goal.

Coventry was credited with a save on a shot attempted late in the first half with the score tied at 1-1.

Madison College (4-1-1) continues a three-match road trip against Region 4 foes on Saturday, September 19 with a game at Moraine Valley Community College (0-3-2). The Cyclones boast a 4-1 lead in the all-time series; however, the WolfPack claimed its only win in the series last year with a 2-0 win in Madison. Kickoff in Palos Hills, Illinois, is set for noon and can be live streamed via YouTube.
