MADISON, WISC. - Wednesday's showdown of NJCAA Division II ranked teams ended with a 2-0 loss for Madison College against Southeastern Community College. The #11 WolfPack's first loss of the season also ended an impressive 24-match home unbeaten streak at Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch-East. The #8 Blackhawks now lead the head-to-head series 1-0.
Southeastern (8-0) got on the board first with a goal in the 7' after gaining possession off a Madison goal kick. A touch pass by forward Joshua Barboza into the penalty area was chased down and midfielder Ethan Murphy chipped it over a leaping
Thomas Randall for a 1-0.Â
After the WolfPack posted their first shot on goal by
Josh Kiltz, the Blackhawks were back on the offensive in the 12' as defender Kember Elizondo won a foot race to the ball in the left corner. He sent a pass towards the goalie box, where forward Ilian Coirault was able to head it past Randall after the freshman goalkeeper was caught out of position.
The rest of the match saw the teams play even soccer as SCC held on for the two-goal victory. The WolfPack finished with a 10-4 advantage in shots, including a narrow 5-4 edge in shots on goal. Freshmen
Ben Young and
Angel Gomez Lopez were tops with two total shots, while Kiltz,
Jonah Lander, Gomez Lopez, and
Cris Quezada each put a shot on goal.Â
Randall was credited with two saves and two goals allowed as the Carlisle, England, native, suffered his first collegiate loss.

Madison College (3-1-1) will hit the road for the first time in 2026 when they play Prairie State College (2-2) on Saturday, September 12. The Pioneers lead the all-time series by a 2-1 count; however, the WolfPack won last year's meeting 3-0 in Madison. Kickoff is at noon in Chicago Heights, Illinois.Â
