MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday, dropping a 5-1 match against Hawkeye Community College at Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch - East. The RedTails, who are receiving votes in the NJCAA Division II Preseason Poll, scored four goals in the first half to take control of the match. They now lead the all-time series by a 1-0-1 count.
Hawkeye scored a pair of goals in a matter of one minute as striker Connie Bell found the back of the net in the 19' and 20' to put the visitors in front. Amy Knock made it 3-0 in the 31', and Kylie Sullivan tacked on another in the 42' to make it a four-goal differential by halftime.
Late in the second half, HCC made it 5-0 with a penalty kick goal in the 84' before Madison College's
Amalia Molgard snapped the home team scoring drought in the final minute. The WolfPack earned a penalty kick and the sophomore transfer buried it in the bottom right corner for her team-leading third goal of the season.
The RedTails racked up a 15-6 advantage in total shots and a 13-4 lead in shots on goal. Molgard and freshman
Maddie Ludwig tied for the team lead with two shots each and one shot on goal.Â

Arabella Penfold was credited with five saves and four goals allowed. Fellow first year
Makenzie Roman took over at halftime and made three saves with one goal allowed.
