MADISON, WISC. - Three matches. Three goalkeepers. Three shutouts. The Madison College men's soccer team extended their string of scoreless minutes to 270 on Saturday with a 4-0 win over Hawkey Community College at Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch - East. Sophomore
Coltrane LoBreglio became the third different goalie to earn a clean sheet for the #9-ranked WolfPack, who have not lost in 23 consecutive home matches and 21 straight regular season outings. The win also gives the Pack a 2-0 all-time lead in the series with the RedTails (0-3-0).
Madison College didn't wait long to take control of the match, scoring a 6' goal for a 1-0 lead. As the WolfPack worked to clear the ball from their defensive zone, sophomore
Josh Kiltz found second year midfielder/forward
Gio Diaz racing down the left sideline. Diaz eventually worked the ball into the penalty area, where he split a pair of defenders and beat the goalkeeper with a low shot towards to the left post for his second goal of the season.
The advantage grew to 2-0 in the 38' when a pass from the sideline by
Gui Amaral appeared headed in the direction of forward
Jonah Lander in the middle of the penalty box. Lander misplayed the ball, allowing fellow freshman
Owen Counsell to race in for a header at the top of the goalie box. It sailed past the sprawling keeper, giving Counsell his second goal in 2026.
In the second half, the WolfPack added two more goals as they continued to separate on the scoreboard. In the 68' minute, sophomore defender
Will Skinner sent a free kick downfield, where freshman
Dylan Sutton gained control near the penalty area and chipped the goalkeeper for a team-leading third goal of the year for the forward from Milton Keynes, England.
The final goal of the match came in the 85' as the WolfPack earned a corner kick and immediately played it into Diaz in the corner. He attacked along the end line before sending a pass into the goalie box and it was deflected by a RedTails player right to the feet of freshman
Luis Rojas. The midfielder from Machesney Park, Illinois, quickly booted it into the net for his first career goal.
Madison College held a narrow 10-7 differential in total shots, but a bigger 7-2 advantage in shots on goal. The trio of
Gio Diaz, Kiltz, and Counsell all had two total shots, with Diaz and Kiltz each putting two on goal.
LoBreglio, a native of Oregon, Wisconsin, made two saves in earning his second career shutout.
