MADISON, WISC. - Madison College dominated all phases of Friday's Region 4 baseball game against Sauk Valley Community College, posting a season high in runs and hits in a lopsided 21-2 win in a run-ruled seven innings. The 21 runs are the most scored by the WolfPack since a 21-4 win over Carl Sandburg College in March 2024. Sophomore

Casey Wambach combined for ten runs batted in, while second year pitchers
Noah Musolf and
Camden Broske limited the Skyhawks to three hits. Wet field conditions pushed the start time back and forced the change from a doubleheader to a single game, and the win is the Pack's 19th straight against SVCC to extend their lead in the all-time series to 29-8.
Madison College (29-8) jumped out early to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.
Ian Salvesen,
Sam Moses, Falish, and Wambach all drove in a run with a hit, with Moses and Falish going for extra bases. The WolfPack added two more runs in the third as Falish followed a Moses double with a line drive base hit to center, and later scored when
Eason Hurd singled to right.
The game broke wide open in the fourth when
Nate Novinska crushed a two-run homer to left for his fifth of the season. Three batters later, and after a Moses single and Falish double, Wambach also went yard with a three-run blast to right for an 11-0 lead. It was his second career homer and first since the second game of the season.
The runs kept coming in the fifth thanks to five hits and a walk. Falish drove in one run before Wambach brought home two with a single and Hurd capped the inning with a bloop single to score Falish and push the differential to 15-0.
Sauk Valley Community College (18-21) got on the scoreboard in the sixth after Broske entered in relief of Musolf, and the Skyhawks used a walk and two singles to score two runs.
The last of the runs came in the home half of the sixth as the WolfPack hung a six-spot on the board. Madison College drew seven walks in the inning, five of which forced in a run and gave RBI to Novinska, Moses, Falish,
Blake Etzel, and
Paul Nuetzel. Chaise Maika got the final run to home with a fielder's choice ground out up the middle.
Musolf, a native of Franklin, Wisconsin, improved ot 4-1 on the season, working 5.1 innings of scoreless baseball. He struck out two batters and allowed one hit before handing the ball to Broske. The righthander from West Bend, Wisconsin, surrendered two runs on two hits and a walk, while also striking out one.
At the plate, Madison College amassed 18 hits, including six for extra bases, and a dozen walks. Falish enjoyed his second four-hit game of the season as the De Pere, Wisconsin, product was 4 for 4 with a walk and a career-high five runs scored, to go along with four runs batted in.
Wambach, a former Sun Prairie West HS athlete, was right behind him in the lineup and used his three hits to generate a career-high six runs batted in, while also scoring a run. Moses also was 3 for 4 with a walk, which yielded four runs scored and two RBI.
Three other registered multiple hits in the game. Salvesen had two hits, two walks, scored four runs, and drove in another. Novinska posted two hits, three RBI, and scored twice. And Hurd tallied two hits and two runs driven in.
