SOPHOMORE SMACK DOWN: #7 WolfPack crush Milwaukee Tech in home finale

Seven-member class celebrated before 9-0 rout

MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College men's soccer team dominated from start to finish in a Region 4 matchup Wednesday, rolling to an emphatic 9-0 victory over in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College at Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch-East. The offensive explosion was backed by a completely suffocating defensive performance that did not allow a single shot all match, extending the #7-ranked WolfPack's current run of shutout wins to five in a row and improving their region record to 8-0-2. The all-time series now sits at 54-15-3 against the Stormers, including a 24-0-2 mark dating back to 2012. Prior to the match, second year players Caylen Coventry, Mason Leslie, Gio Diaz, Gui Amaral, Josh Kiltz, Will Skinner, and Coltrane LoBreglio were all honored for Sophomore Night.

The WolfPack set the tone immediately, striking five times in the opening half-hour. Midfielder/forward Diaz opened the scoring in the 4' after LoBreglio won a battle in the middle of the field and slipped a pass through the gap, allowing Diaz to finish with a strike across the keeper. The roles reversed in the 14' following a great ball across from freshman Owen Counsell, Diaz split two defenders and found LoBreglio, a goalkeeper playing in the field, for a tap-in to mark the first collegiate goal after the first collegiate assist for the native of Oregon, Wisconsin. Diaz now owns eight goals on the season.

Forward Dylan Sutton then slipped a pass behind the defense in the 19' for Kiltz, who buried a shot across the keeper to make it 3-0. The goal extends Kiltz match scoring streak to six consecutive, during which the Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, native has scored 11 of his team-leading 13 goals this season. Freshman Bryan Diaz added the team's fourth goal - and his second this fall - in the 30' with a tap-in off a rebound, and fellow first year Jayden Garcia capped the half in the 45th minute by taking a touch on a cross and calmly placing a left-footed finish past the keeper with a few seconds remaining before halftime. The first career goal for the midfielder from Madison, Wisconsin, gave the wolfPack a 5-0 lead at the half.

The second half brought more of the same high-powered offense, starting with Sutton capitalizing on a keeper rebound in the 48' for a tap-in. The struggles for Milwaukee Area Technical College (2-7-3) got worse in the second half when the Stormers netted an own goal off a corner kick in the 51' to make it a seven-goal differential.

In the 56', freshman Kian Downey chased down a loose ball on the right side of the box and booted a shot towards the left post, and Sutton was right there to tap it in for his second of the match. The scoring strike gives the native of Milton Keynes, England, eight goals in 2026, marks his second multi-goal match, and gives him a career-best five points in the match. First year forward Angel Gomez Lopez put the final exclamation point on the rout in the 69', bringing down a cross from Adan Flores with his left foot, turning past his defenders, and driving home the final goal of the night and his fifth of the year, all of which have come in the last five matches.

Madison College outshot Milwaukee 20-0 overall and held a 15-0 edge in shots on goal. Sutton and B. Diaz led the Pack with four total shots, with Sutton putting all four on goal. Goalkeepers Coventry and LoBreglio combined to secure the WolfPack's tenth clean sheet of the season and push the team's combined scoreless minutes streak to 464.
