Madison College trio named to All-Region 4 in 2025

Schwartz tabbed for first team, Weik & Steinhorst earned second team

Three Madison College softball players were named to the NJCAA Division II All-Region 4 Team following the 2025 season. Freshman Raegen Schwarz was selected as a first team outfielder, while sophomores Kendall Weik and Brooke Steinhorst earned second team accolades as a pitcher and utility/designated player, respectively. The trio guided the WolfPack to a 28-15 record and push the program's all-time count of all-region recipients to 53.

Raegen Schwarz produced one of the best hitting seasons in Madison College history, registering a .450 batting average that ranks ninth in program history and among the top 15 in all of Region 4. The outfielder from Appleton, Wisconsin, also led the team with 59 hits, including 20 doubles as part of 25 extra base hits, and 58 runs batted in. Those numbers place Schwarz third in team history for RBI in a season, third for doubles in a season, and 12th for hits in a year. She was also second on the team in runs scored with 39. Schwarz racked up an impressive 14-game hitting streak from March 18 to April 12, and produced 21 multi-hit games, led by five games contests with three hits. On March 16 against Mohawk Valley Community College, she became the 19th player in program history to record five or more runs batted in during a single game as she drove in a season-high five. Based on the all-region voting, Schwarz also received enough votes for a NJCAA All-American nomination.

Kendall Weik secured her second all-region honor after being voted third team as a freshman. The native of Fifield, Wisconsin, plastered her own name all over the Madison College record books with her work in the pitcher's circle. Weik shattered the previous single-season strikeout record with 150, en route to also destroying the all-time K's mark 267. Five times in 2025 she racked up double-digit strikeouts in a single game, highlighted by a season-high 13 K's against South Suburban College on March 28, which ties for sixth most in team history behind her program record of 15 in a game set last year. She finished 2025 with a 12-8 record and a 3.28 earned run average of 121.2 innings of work, and now ranks ninth in wins in a season and sixth in innings pitched in a year. In addition to the strikeout totals, Weik will depart Madison College ranking tied for second in career wins with a 27-13 record, second in career innings pitched at 246.0, and 18th in all-time ERA at 3.19. Though voted onto the all-region team as a pitcher, Weik also demonstrated she swing the bat in 2025, hitting .284 with 29 hits, 19 runs batted in, and 17 runs scored while playing first base opposite her pitching duties.

Brooke Steinhorst continued to show off her full repertoire in 2025, as she had for her entire career with the WolfPack. The Poynette, Wisconsin, native batted .395 with 49 hits, 33 runs batted in, and 21 runs scored, while also going 11-6 with a 3.33 earned run average over 103.0 innings in the pitcher's circle. Steinhorst racked up five games with three hits, drove in a career-high four runs on April 19 against McHenry County College, and struck out five or more batters on four occassions, including a season-best eight against South Suburban College on March 28. Her 16 doubles ranks eighth in program history for a single season and moved Steinhorst into fourth place on the all-time doubles list, while she also ranks 24th in team history for career RBI with 50. Steinhorst's 11 wins tie for the 11th most in a single season, and she exits Madison College tied for fifth in career wins with a 17-11 record. Her 64 strikeouts in 2025 are tied for 22nd and propelled her career K total to 108, which is 11th best in program history.
