MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College women's basketball team was ready for 2025! After having dropped three straight games to end 2024 and taking a two-week break between games, the WolfPack came out firing on Saturday and earned a 96-54 win over Harry S. Truman College in a Region 4 game inside
H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium. Freshman
Hannah Solie poured in a career-best 19 points, while fellow first year
Dani Latz racked up her ninth straight double-double. Madison College's 96 points is the most for the program since posting 100 against Harper College on January 8, 2000.
Solie got things started with the first of her career-high five 3-pointers on the game's opening possession and ignited an 11-0 run to open the game for the WolfPack. Harry S. Truman College (3-8) did not score their first field goal until nearly four minutes into the game. Another 11-3 outburst closed the impressive first quarter with a 24-6 lead by the home team. The differential grew to as high as 21 during the second quarter; however, the Falcons trimmed their deficit to 40-26 at half time.
The third quarter produced the highest-scoring ten minutes of the season for the Pack with 37 points, as six different players scored. Madison College engineered a 27-2 surge that included nine points by freshman guard

Jaia Carson sank a three-pointer with 3:30 to play in the quarter, the home team held a 67-30 advantage. The went to the fourth quarter leading 77-44 after freshman
Keelyn Zwirschitz drilled a buzzer-beating from beyond the arc. In the fourth quarter, WolfPack scored nine consecutive points as the lead swelled to 40 with 3:28 remaining. Zwirschitz added a layup and another triple for the 42-point victory.
Solie, who entered the game shooting 5 for 24, drained a season-high five three-pointers as part of a 6 for 10 effort overall with two free throws for 19 points. The native of Chetek, Wisconsin, added three assists, two rebounds, and two steals as she snapped a nine-game stretch with fewer than ten points since posting 11 points in the season-opener against McHenry County College.
Latz' double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds gives her team-leading averages of 13.8 points and 11.6 rebounds through 11 games this season. The 5'10" forward was 6 for 14 from the floor and a perfect 7 for 7 at the free throw line, while also putting up season-high numbers with seven assists and five steals.
Aubrey Maass was right behind with 18 points on 6 for 16 shooting with one 3-pointer and a 5 for 6 effort at the charity stripe. The Montello, Wisconsin, native, now boasts six double-digit scoring performances, and also tacked on eight boards, three assists, and a steal
Zwirschitz and Gaskins each made six baskets and a pair of three-pointers en route to 16 points and 15 points, respectively. Zwirschitz, a former Antigo HS athlete, matched a career-best with nine rebounds, while Gaskins produced five assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
For the game, Madison College shot 33 of 70 (47%) overall, 11 of 27 (40%) from long range, and 19 of 22 (86%) at the line, setting new season-highs for field goal and free throw percentage, as well as made three-pointers. The WolfPack owned a 51-32 advantage in rebounds, a 17-10 lead in second chance scoring, a 29-15 edge in points off turnovers, and a 30-22 differential in points in the paint. The home team's 24 assists established a new season-high.
Saturday's game marked the first-ever meeting between Madison College and Harry S. Truman College.
