The two-year branch of the
College Sports Communicators (formerly College Sports Information Directors of America) recently named the Madison College Athletics Department and Athletic Communications & Marketing Coordinator
Adam Eichstedt as their 2YSIDA Department of the Month for January 2024. The honor is bestowed monthly by top 2YSIDA personnel in recognition of a department's dedication to promoting two-year student-athletes and teams. Eichstedt is in his ninth year with the WolfPack, and his second year leading the athletic communications responsibilities after taking over for current Athletic Director
Jason Verhelst, who has been a long-time member of CSC.
"There are so many terrific athletic departments throughout the NJCAA landscape and so many unbelievably talented athletic communications professionals all over the country, and to be mentioned alongside them is a tremendous honor," stated Eichstedt, who also works as an assistant golf coach and the department's primary PA announcer at home events. "This is truly a department award - a team award - as I'm surrounded by tremendous people that work hard and believe in each other, allowing everyone to grow and shine to their fullest extent."
The monthly recognition also puts Eichstedt and Madison College in the running for the CSC 2YSIDA Department of the Year, which will be announced at the CSC Unite 24 Convention in Las Vegas in June.
Eichstedt and Madison College have certainly been on the College Sports Communicators radar over the past year. The organization named the department's
"AHEAD OF THE PACK: A Title IX & Madison College Story" video tribute as the Top Video Feature among two-year schools in the 2022-23 Publications & Digital Design Contest this past June, and in October 2023, the department was the featured school in the CSC 360 series with
"Madison College Sets a Two-Year College Standard" for investing in staff development and student-athlete recognition.
