Year two of the
Angel Whetstone era is shaping up to be a much different experience in 2024-25. Madison College finished the previous season with just five players - three of which joined the team from the women's soccer program to help keep the season afloat - over the final 11 games and finished with just one win. Enter a whole new roster of a dozen freshman ready to get WolfPack women's basketball back on track in a competitive Region 4. The season begins with the home and region opener on Saturday, November 2 against McHenry County College inside
H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium.

Madison College 2024-25 Roster
"Coming in with a completely new team, our strengths are having great player personnel to work with," stated Whetstone. "With our team being young, we will use that as an advantage this season. There's a tremendous amount of high potential with this group."
The WolfPack do have one returning team member in
Camilla Hauser, a 5'5" guard from Beloit, Wisconsin, that missed all of her true freshman season with an injury suffered during fall camp.Â
"Though not a true returner, Camilla will help us offensively with scoring. She'll also help drive us in as she possesses an incredible work ethic, one that was on display as she trained to get back to 100%."
Whetstone will give the entire 2024-25 roster plenty of opportunities in the early stages to see who has what it takes to contribute and produce. Four players have made significant showings throughout preseason practices.Â
Guards Nariah Wilson from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Aubrey Maass from Montello, Wisconsin, and
Olivia Schultz from Verona, Wisconsin, should give the WolfPack some tremendous versatility, depth, and fire power in the backcourt. Schultz arrives fresh off a WIAA Division 3 State Championship run at Madison Edgewood.
"Nariah can push in transition off the defensive rebound and will help keep our tempo very quick. She's great on both ends of the floor. Aubrey is a tough guard that can get in the paint, find teammates, and knock down shots for us. And Olivia, much like Aubrey, is a strong guard with the ability to penetrate the interior and distribute the ball."
Forward
Dani Latz, a 5'10" native of Bloomer, Wisconsin, will lead a contingent of three or four players that can help control the paint.
"Dani is a crafty post player that is athletic and able to make tough shots through contact. We'll need her to draw some attention defensively and allow us to open up the offense."
The season begins with Madison College's traditional opener against the Scots, and will also feature some challenging matchups against teams ranked in the
NJCAA Division II Preseason Poll. Following a four-game homestand from late-November into December, the WolfPack embark on a quick two-game road swing that includes a December 21 trip to #24-ranked Oakton College. Another five-game home stretch from January 23 to February 4 will allow the team to grow in the comfort of their home gym before eventually welcoming #10-ranked North Iowa Area Community College to the capital city on February 8 for Sophomore Day. Sixth-ranked and defending Region 4 champion Rock Valley College will host Madison College on February 13. The season is set to conclude February 20 with a home date with the College of DuPage.
While Whetstone and the WolfPack will be focused on steady improvement and moving the program forward, the team also hopes to contend for a spot in the
Region 4 Division II Tournament, which opens February 27 and concludes with a semifinals and championships in Rockford, Illinois, on March 1 and 8, respectively. The
NJCAA Division II National Tournament runs March 17-22 in Joplin, Missouri.
