OAK CREEK, WISC. - Madison College was in full control of the ball throughout Tuesday's Region 4 soccer match at in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College, however, despite a sizable advantage in scoring opportunities, the WolfPack finished with a 1-1 draw against the Stormers. The tie marks the third in the last four matches for the Pack, who is averaging 1.1 goals per game through seven contests this season. The result also snaps a 21-match win streak against MATC-Milwaukee, and puts the all-time series at 51-15-3 in favor of Madison College.
The host Stormers (0-6-1) struck first with an 11' goal against WolfPack goalkeeper
Phil McCloskey. A pass towards the top of the penalty box was redirected right to the foot of a waiting Milwaukee Tech forward, whose shot was deflected off a Madison College boot and skidded a leaning McCloskey.
The equalizer was soon to follow with freshman
Jamie Le Comte banging home his first career goal off a corner kick from fellow first year
Damo Lovell.
Madison College continued it's assault on the MATC-Milwaukee net throughout the match, finishing with a 15-2 edge in shots on goal and a 21-3 differential in total shots. The visitors also had 16 attempts at corner kicks. The Stormers goalkeeper finished with 14 saves to keep his club in the match. McCloskey tallied one save as the Milwaukee Tech offense struggled to gain possession from the Pack.
Sophomore
Gabe Voung matched Le Comte for the team-lead with four shots on goal, followed by three from
Adrian Henkovic and two by
Felipe Dewes.
