Madison College Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jason Roscoe will participate in the upcoming 2023 NCAA College Basketball Academy as one of nearly 100 coaches selected to work with some of the nation's top prep prospects. The event runs July 24-27 in Memphis, Tennessee, and features coaches NCAA Division II and III, NAIA, and junior college levels. The coaches were selected via a cooperative effort between the NCAA and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
"It's an honor and privilege to be a part of the NCAA College Basketball Academy. The opportunity to represent Madison College, our athletic department, and our men's basketball program is something that I take tremendous pride in," stated Roscoe, who is preparing to enter his second year leading the WolfPack. "I look forward to working with the talented young men that will be participating in this event as well as their families. This will also provide me with a great opportunity to network and learn from some of the best coaches across all levels."
Roscoe guided Madison College to a 16-14 record in his first season at the helm in 2022-23. The WolfPack finished second in the North Central Community College Conference with a 5-3 record, and reached the Region 4 Division III Tournament Championship for the first time three years and the just the fourth time since joining the region in 2009-10.
According to the
official press release, the College Basketball Academy offers a sample of the college basketball experience to men's and women's student-athletes, pairing high-level competition with life skills instruction. The participants and their parents or chaperones are provided various opportunities to learn about eligibility and compliance, the recruiting process, NIL opportunities, agents, the Transfer Portal, and the potential for continuing play into the professional ranks.Â
Roscoe will specifically be part of the academy'sÂ
Individual Pathway, which is one of three ways to participation for student-athletes. They are voted on by NCAA Division I coaches and then split into 48 teams at the academy. The list of those men's players can be found
