MADISON, WISC. - After posting back-to-back wins and ten goals in their previous two matches, the Madison College men's soccer team was unable to keep the offensive surge going Tuesday and suffered a 2-0 loss in a Region 4 match against Triton College at
Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch-East. It's only the third time the WolfPack has been shut out this season, and comes despite the match being tied 0-0 for nearly 75 minutes full minutes. The win for the Trojans gives them a 23-7-1 lead in the all-time series.
Triton College (8-3-2) controlled the ball for a majority of the match, leading to a 9-4 advantage in total shots and a more significant 8-1 edge in shots on goal. Madison College goalkeeper
Phil McCloskey made six saves, five of which helped keep the match scoreless.
The Trojans broke through in the 75' with a goal on a header that snuck inside the right post. Five minutes later, Triton College added some insurance thanks to a penalty kick that was successful.
The teams combined for six yellow cards in a match that both teams needed to win as they battle to get into the upcoming Region 4 Tournament.
Freshman
Jamie Le Comte was the only player to put a shot on goal for the WolfPack.
