MADISON, WISC. - In a true tale of two halves men's basketball game, Madison College blew out visiting UW-Baraboo by a 94-59 margin Saturday inside
H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium to mark their largest margin of victory of the season. The WolfPack shot 64% in the second half as they posted a season-high 64 points in the final 20 minutes to earn their second consecutive victory. Freshman
Deante Luster was perfect from the field after halftime and finished with a game-high 26 points, while sophomore
Keith Hoffman registered his seventh double-double.
The two in-state foes stayed within a couple possessions of each other for the game's first nine minutes until sophomore
Cortez Telfered drained a three-pointer as part of a 13-0 run that pushed the score to 25-11 with 6:37 to play in the half. The Fighting Spirits answered back with a 12-5 surge to close the gap to seven entering halftime.
Madison College ramped up the intensity and the speed of the game in the second half and blitzed UW-Baraboo with a 19-7 start to the half that culminated with eight consecutive points and a 49-30 edge just five minutes in. The Pack continued to slowly pull until slamming the door shut with ten unanswered points to make the differential a game-high 38 at 85-47 with 4:27 remaining.
Luster, a native of Columbia, South Carolina, racked up his second consecutive game with 20 or more points. He tallied 19 of his 26 points in the second half, during which he was 7 for 7 from the field with three 3-pointers and a pair of free throws. For the game, Luster went 10 of 13 overall and made all four of his attempts outside the arc. The 6'3" guard/forward also dished out a team-best four assists.
Hoffman's 18 points and 13 rebounds mark back-to-back double-doubles for just the second time this season. The 6'8" foward/center was 6 for 13 on the day with a three-pointer and a 5 for 6 effort at the free throw line.
Fellow second year
Nik Feller tallied ten points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists in a game that saw nine different Madison College players score.
Sophomores
Cortez Telfered combined for 16 points and each set a season-high with six steals as Madison College doubled their previous single-game best with 24 steals. The WolfPack forced 30 turnovers, which led to a massive 36-12 advantage in points off turnovers. They also generated a 50-34 edge in points in the paint.
The Pack finished 35 for 67 (52%) from the floor, 8 of 20 (40%) from distance, and 16-20 (80%) at the charity stripe.
The win extends the WolfPack's all-time lead over the Fighting Spirits to 32-4 going all the way back to 1970-71.

Madison College (11-10, 1-2) will begin the second leg of the North Central Community College Conference and Region 4 slate on Tuesday, January 31 with a trip to the College of DuPage (11-11, 3-1). The WolfPack will be seeking revenge after a narrow
76-70 home loss to the Chaparrals on January 12. The all-time series still favors the Pack at 16-14, however, the Chaps have taken four of the past five meetings. Tip off is at 7:00 p.m. in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and can be streamed live
