MADISON, WISC. - Despite strong winds and cold temperatures, the Madison College baseball team made quick work of a Region 4 doubleheader sweep over Waubonsee Community College, earning a pair of five-inning, run-ruled wins by scores of 11-0 and 12-2 on Friday at Robin Roberts Field. Game #1: #1 Madison College 11, Waubonsee Community College 0 (5 innings)

A first inning balk foreshadowed one of the storylines of the day's twin bill, and it also got the scoring started as it allowed Gabe Roessler to touch home. The WolfPack jumped out a 7-0 lead with six runs in the second inning, and it all came with two outs on the scoreboard. Eli Kramer and Zach Storbakken each produced with a run-scoring double, the latter of which brought home two runs. Gunnar Doyle earned a RBI with a bases loaded walk, and Brady Jurgella capped the inning with a single to right that plated Storbakken. In the third inning, Cameron Dupont crossed home thanks to an Eli Kramer sacrifice fly, Doyle roped a double to left to score Gabe O'Brien and Jake Fulton, and Storbakken followed with a double of his own to drive in Doyle for the game's final run.

Doyle, a native of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, finished 2 for 2 with three runs batted in and two scored. It's his fourth game with three or more runs batted in this season. Storbakken also produced two hits, three RBI, and one runs scored, while Jake Fulton was the third player with multiple hits and scored two runs.
