11 WolfPack players score in balanced attack ahead of season finale Tuesday

PALATINE, ILL. - The Madison College men's basketball team built a 22-point lead and held off Harper College down the stretch to earn a 69-62 road win in a Region 4 and North Central Community College Conference game Saturday. Eleven different WolfPack players scored in the win, which is the seventh straight over the Hawks and moves the all-time series to 18-10 in favor of the 'Pack.

Harper College (0-26, 0-9) pulled even with the WolfPack at 17-17 with less than eight minutes remaining in the first half, but Madison College responded with a 9-0 run. The Hawks answered by scoring eight of the final ten points in the half to send the teams into halftime with a 28-25 lead for the visitors. Consecutive three-pointers from freshman Nik Feller capped a fast 8-0 surge to open the second half, which saw Madison College slowly add to it's lead until it peaked at 62-40 on a Cortez Telfered and-1 play with 5:38 left in the game. That would be the last basket scored the the 'Pack, and Harper College used a 22-7 push over those final five-plus minutes to pull within five before two Arrion Curothers free throws sealed the win.

Feller, from Poynette, Wisconsin, and sophomore Trevon Liggins, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native, tied for team-high scoring honors with 11 points each. The guard/forward duo combined to shoot 8 for 15 with four 3-pointers and two free throws. They also had 13 rebounds, four steals, and two blocks together. Feller owns eight double-digit scoring games, and Saturday marks the sixth time he's made three or more shots from outside the arc. Liggins has posted ten or more points in seven of the 12 games played in 2022.

First year forward Keith Hoffman fell one basket shy of a double-double, scoring eight points and grabbing a team-best ten rebounds. He also matched sophomore Malcolm Reed for the team lead in assists with three.
