LA CROSSE, WISC. - A back-and-forth match between long-time foes came down to the final few points Tuesday when the Madison College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 thriller at Western Technical College. The WolfPack opened with a 25-22 win in the opening set, however, the Cavaliers responded with back-to-back 25-22 and 25-22 wins. With their backs against the wall, Madison College fought back in set four with a 25-21 decision that forced a decisive fifth set. The dramatic final set finished with the home team earning a 15-11 victory.

A trio of front row players racked up double-digit kills in the match, led by second year outside hitter Abigail Lewis. The Stoughton, Wisconsin, native blasted a career-best 22 kills. Jadyn Holman and Calla Borchert followed with 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Borchert, a middle blocker from Lake Mills, Wisconsin, hit at a season- and team-high .571 percentage and also registered her first double-double of the year with 20 digs.

Setter Mariah Best ran the offense to the tune of 37 assists, while also collecting ten digs her first career double-double. The WolfPack also racked up a season-best 11 service aces, with freshman Abby Steinhauer producing a team-high four.
