LASALLE, ILL. - The Madison College men's soccer team was held without a goal for just the second time this season in a 1-0 Region 4 loss Saturday at Illinois Valley Community College. The loss snaps a three-match win streak, as well as a nine-match streak of games with at least one goal scored. The WolfPack, who previously beat the Eagles 7-2 on September 8, split their regular season series and now boast a 7-2 all-time lead in the head-to-head series.

Despite not yielding a goal, Madison College controlled the action in the first half, generating five shots on goal compared to just one for Illinois Valley Community College (10-5). The match moved into the second half still looking for its first score, which came in the 82' minute for the host Eagles as they snuck a shot past sophomore goalkeeper Sullivan Schwitters. The WolfPack, who had produced three shots on goal in the half prior to the IVCC goal, were unable to challenge the Illinois Valley CC defense and 'keeper for the remainder of the match. 

Madison College finished with a 14-11 edge in total shots and an 8-5 lead in shots on goal. Freshman forward Erick Antimo paced the 'Pack with three shots on goal. 

Schwitters was credited for one goal allowed and three saves.

Madison College (8-3) completes a three-match road swing on Saturday, October 9 against Rock Valley College (). The WolfPack, currently receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Division III Poll, will look for a season sweep of the #7 Golden Eagles after taking down RVC 3-2 on September 15. The all-time series stands at 11-6-1 in favor of Madison College. Game time in Rockford, Illinois, is at 1:00 p.m.
