MILWAUKEE, WISC. - A Tuesday night trip east on Interstate 94 produced a very familiar result for the Madison College women's volleyball team, who earned their 37th consecutive match victory over in-state and North Central Community College Conference rival Milwaukee Area Technical College with a 3-0 decision at Alverno College. The 25-10, 25-19, 25-15 sweep is the 24th straight WolfPack win without dropping a set against the Stormers.
Madison College came out firing on all cylinders with 11 kills and a .455 attack percentage, and would finish with an average of 11.0 kills per set and a .286 efficiency. Additionally, the WolfPack took advantage of a struggling Milwaukee Area Technical College (2-12, 0-8) serve receive and racked up 17 aces, their second-highest total in a match this season.
Sophomores
Calla Borchert and
Abigail Lewis were tied for the team lead in kills with eight each, and both posted a .333 hitting percentage. Three other WolfPack players registered multiple kills in the match, with
Amelia Walton earning five and
Olivia Marron and
Jadyn Holman both at four.
Kaleia Lawrence was the top setter with 15 assists, followed by
Mariah Best with a dozen. Defensively,
Abby Steinhauer tracked down 14 digs and Walton found ten digs.
The match, however, was completely dominated at the service line as seven different 'Pack players served up an ace. Steinhauer and Walton were tops with four, and Best finished with three aces.
The all-time series, which dates back to 1977, sits at 91-29-3 in favor of Madison College.
