CHICAGO, ILL. - In a game that featured six ties and six lead changes, the Madison College women's basketball team outlasted NJCAA Division II Wilbur Wright College 80-74 in overtime to claim a second straight North Central Community College Conference victory. Four players scored in double-figures, including a career-high 20 points from
Olivia Marron and a pair of huge long-range bombs from freshman
Amber Sue Udelhoven, en route to earning the team's tenth win of the season. The victory is the WolfPack's 13th straight over the Rams, and pushes the all-time series to 16-1.
Trailing by three after a Wilbur Wright College (6-9, 0-4) free throw with 16 seconds to play in regulation, the WolfPack turned to Udelhoven, who despite missing her only three-point attempt in the game, dialed up long distance and buried a game-tying triple to force overtime at 67-67. In the extra session Madison College tallied the first four points and never looked back. Udelhoven struck again midway through the OT when she canned another long-range shot to put the road team ahead 75-69. Madison College outscored the Rams by a 13-7 margin over the final five minutes to net the win. Madison College jumped out to a nine-point lead in the first quarter, however, Wilbur Wright College answered in the second with seven straight points to close within one. The WolfPack ended the half with an 8-2 surge to take a 37-29 edge into the second half. Still leading by six with four minutes to play in the third, the Rams knocked down three 3-pointers as part of a bigger 13-2 burst that put the home team ahead by five going into the final quarter.
