Tough shooting night ends WolfPack win streak at four games

SUGAR GROVE, ILL. - A cold shooting night brought the Madison College women's basketball team's four-game win streak to a close Thursday with a 63-44 setback at NJCAA Division II Waubonsee Community College. The WolfPack shot a season-low 24% and had two players reach double-figures. The loss is just the third in 13 all-time meetings with the Chiefs as the two programs met for the first time in 13 years.

Madison College fell behind 9-0 to start the game as they missed their first two shots and committed three early turnovers before sophomore Lilly Dorman scored from in the paint. The deficit stayed inside of ten points and sat at 15-7 entering the second quarter, where guard Mrylena Stewart put on a shooting demonstration with three-consecutive makes from long range for a 9-2 run that cut the differential to four. However, the home team answered with a 12-4 closing stretch to take a 32-20 lead at halftime. Waubonsee Community College (3-3) maintained a double-digit lead throughout the remainder of the game.
