PALATINE, ILL. - Nearly a month after suffering their only loss of the season in a double-overtime home setback, the Madison College women's soccer team earned some revenge on Wednesday with a 4-0 victory over Harper College on their home pitch. Behind a pair of goals from freshman
Lydia Webster and another shutout performance by sophomore
Kelly Kubicek, the
#9-ranked WolfPack remained atop the North Central Community College Conference standings by a game and extended their current unbeaten match streak to seven straight. The 'Pack also improved to 8-4-1 in the head-to-head series with the Hawks.
Webster, a native of DeForest, Wisconsin, began her scoring spree with a successful strike in the 19' on an assist from sophomore
Jenna Kohrt. That would end up being the only goal of the first half, as the team's were locked in a defensive struggle. Fifteen minutes into the second half, the WolfPack struck again and this time it was Kohrt on the scoring end for her team-leading eight of the season. Less than ten minutes later in the 70', Kohrt, a midfielder from Monona, Wisconsin, set up second year fellow second-year midfielder
Lillian Glackin to net her second goal in 2019 to make it a 3-0 differential. The WolfPack's second half scoring surge ended when Webster capitalized on an
Anna Cappaert pass in the 76' to punch a shot past the Harper College (3-8, 2-7) goalkeeper for a 4-0 lead.
Kubicek, who became the program's all-time leader in shutouts in the team's previous win, added to her career total with seven saves en route to her sixth perfect match this fall. With three straight shutouts, the Oregon, Wisconsin, product has not allowed a goal in 323 consecutive minutes.
Madison College owned a 14-7 edge in shots on goal and a 17-11 advantage in total shots. Webster finished the night with two goals on three shots as she now boasts six goals this season. Glackin and
Haylee Miles also had three total shots, while Kohrt posted four total shots and two on goal. She and Webster ended the match with four total points each. Kohrt had a team-leading 18 points overall.Â
The WolfPack is 7-1 in the N4C with two matches remaining, which is a game-and-a-half better than Rock Valley College at 5-2. The Golden Eagles have three matches remaining, including an October 12 visit to Madison on Sophomore Day.

Madison College (9-1-1, 7-1) steps out of conference over the weekend with a road trip down I-94 to battle in-state foe and NJCAA Division II Bryant & Stratton College (6-2-1). The match will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs, and will be played at Hart Park in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 5.
