WolfPack trio key road win as N4C record reaches .500

Play in the second, fourth quarters separates Madison College from Chaparrals

GLEN ELLYN, ILL. - Significant scoring differentials in the second and fourth quarters created enough separation for the Madison College women's basketball team to secure a 68-42 road win over the College of DuPage on Wednesday night. Three players scored in double-figures to help the WolfPack even out their North Central Community College Conference record with a second straight win. The 'Pack, who had not played in a week due to a canceled game over the weekend, has now defeated the Chaparrals in a dozen consecutive games and improved their all-time series record to 24-13.

Freshman Aniah Williams drained a three-pointer just eight seconds into the game to give Madison College the lead for the rest of the game. Ahead 16-10 to start the second quarter, Williams scored eight points in the next ten minutes to help push the visitors lead to a dozen at 30-18 at the break. After maintaining a double-digit lead throughout the third quarter, the WolfPack used an 9-0 run to close out the win over the College of DuPage (3-14, 0-3).

Williams registered a game-high 25 points, to go along with five rebounds, five assists, and six steals. The native of Beloit, Wisconsin, made four of her nine shots from outside the arc en route to her fourth consecutive game with 25 or more points.

Sophomore Shaquita Lee continued her high-scoring ways since joining the team at semester break with a 19-point effort that drops her scoring average to 25.0. points through four contests, despite not reaching the 20-point threshold for the first time in 2019. Lee narrowly missed her second consecutive double-double by grabbing nine rebounds, while also leading the team with seven assists.

Second year forward Caitlyn Gilbertson poured in a season-high 14 points and reeled in a career-best 12 rebounds. The Platteville, Wisconsin, native's second game with ten-plus points this season also marked her first double-double of the winter.
