Five players score in one-sided win at Triton College for #6 WolfPack

Sixth straight win ties team record for best start in program history

RIVER GROVE, ILL. - A balanced offensive attack helped the Madison College women's soccer team earn a 7-0 win at North Central Community College Conference foe Triton College on Wednesday, a win that tied this year's team with the 2017 squad for best start to a season in program history at 6-0. Five different players scored a goal, with two players netting multiple goals, to help the #6-ranked WolfPack stay unbeaten and improve to 7-1-2 all-time against the Trojans (0-3-2, 0-3-1).

Sophomore Esther Noriega opened the scoring with a 4' goal for Madison College. The midfielder notched her third goal of the year courtesy of a Lillian Glackin assist, the first career helper for the freshman from Moline, Illinois. The game remained 1-0 for the next 20-plus minutes until the WolfPack scored four times in the span of 12 minutes to take a 5-0 advantage into halftime. All-time leading scorer Britt Schumann knocked in a goal in the 27', followed by a pair of Mary Raemisch scoring kicks sandwiched around a successful try by Meghan Petroski.

In the second half, the 'Pack put the game well out of reach with goals by DeForest, Wisconsin, products Peyton Trapino and Schumann. Schumann's two goals mark her 12th career multi-goal effort and give her a team-leading 11 on the season. Raemisch, a freshman from Lodi, Wisconsin, now has seven goals on the year and three games with two or more scoring strikes.

Five of the seven goals were assisted by Trapino, moving the second year midfielder to within two assists of tying her own single-season assists record of 20 from 2017.

The WolfPack posted a 20-1 edge in total shots, including a 12-0 differential in shots on goal. Former Oregon HS athlete Kelly Kubicek did not record a save in the match, which was called in the 75'. The freshman netminder now possesses five career shutouts, the second highest single season total in program history.
