OAK CREEK, WISC. - The Madison College men's soccer team followed up its worse loss of the season with its most lopsided win of the 2018 campaign, defeating Milwaukee Area Technical College by a 6-1 final on Monday after . Six different players scored for the WolfPack in a North Central Community College Conference match that produced a 13th consecutive win over the in-state rival Stormers.
Coach
Cory Sims' squad came out aggressive and tallied five first half goals, with most of the work being done by the team's most experienced players. Sophomore
Brandon Griffin began the scoring with a 9' scoring strike for his second goal of the season. Less than ten minutes later, fellow second year
Shane Paterson took a pass from another sophomore,
Fabian Perez, to score the game-winner and put the 'Pack ahead 2-0. The lead grew to three goals with a successful kick by second year midfielder
Donovan Brendler, which was followed up three minutes later with
Abel Araya's first career goal.
The Stormers (2-2, 1-2) tallied their lone goal in the 35' against freshman goalkeeper
Saxon LaFlash, who made two saves before being replaced by
Msughter Abel Dzoho at the half. Before that happened,
Sulayman Njie, a forward from Madison East HS, converted a
Mintesinote Urban pass to push the advantage to 5-1. The lone second half goal came off the foot of
Evan Bartz, who was set up by Araya.
While the goal totals were noticeably different, the WolfPack and Stormers were nearly even when it came to total shots (16-14) and shots on goal (9-7).
Monday's match marked the 60th all-time meeting between the two programs, with Madison College leading the head-to-head by a 43-15-2 margin.

Madison College (3-2, 2-1) is off until Friday, September 14 when they travel to Joliet Junior College (2-3-1, 0-2-1) to play a make up game from a rainout of the season opener on August 24. The two teams split their regular season series in 2017, however, the WolfPack has won four of the last six meetings. The Wolves lead the all-time series by a 6-12-2 count. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. in Joliet, Illinois.
