MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College baseball team suffered their worst loss of the season Saturday, April 28 to open a doubleheader against North Central Community College Conference opponent Joliet Junior College, but rebounded to return the favor in the nightcap at
Robin Roberts Field. The 12-0 loss in five innings was just the second run-rule loss of the year for the WolfPack, marking their largest margin of defeat in 2018. The home team, however, rebounded quickly to earn a 12-2 run-rule victory in six innings over the Wolves.
Game #1: Joliet Junior College 12, Madison College 0 (5 innings)
The scoring surge opened in the third when Joliet plated five-runs on two hits, two walks, and an error. The two hits were a two-run double to center and a three-run home run beyond center. The Wolves kept pushing forward in the sixth with five more runs, this time on five hits and three walks. One more run was added in the fifth to complete the worst loss of the season and the first run-rule setback since a
14-4 decision ended the March 14 game at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona.

Jarrett Scheelk's double with a single to right to tally the first run, then scored himself on a pair of throwing errors to make it 2-0. Before the inning ended,
Adam LaRock roped an RBI double to left and
Jon-Anthony Caban singled in a run with a fly ball to center. Scheelk, a freshman from Green Bay, Wisconsin, made it 5-0 in the second with a solo home run to left, his team-leading sixth of the season. After Joliet Junior College (26-19, 7-5) hit a home run of their own in the third and made it 5-2 with a run in the fourth, the 'Pack slowly pulled away with a single run in the fourth and fifth innings, and a five-spot in the sixth to end it early.
