ENID, OKLA. - Madison College baseball had a game for the ages in their first round matchup at the
2018 NJCAA Division II World Series. After trailing 9-1 following three innings of play, the WolfPack scored 17 unanswered runs on 18 hits to run-rule the #3-seeded Kirkwood Community College (IA) Eagles in eight innings. The WolfPack had the second most runs and second most hits of the season as they posted multiple runs in each of the final five frames.
Former DeForest H.S. standout
Logan Michaels had a career day going 6 for 6 with a double, a homerun, four RBI, and four runs scored. Teammate
Nick Gile went 3 for 6 with a game-high six runs batted in. His three-run home run in the sixth inning gave the WolfPack their first lead of the game.
Walker Jenkins,
Nathan Aide, and
Adam LaRock all had two hits as the WolfPack racked up 18 hits on the afternoon.
Madison College starter
Jack Eagan went the first two innings before turning it over to
Matt Hamilton who finished the game. Hamilton (8-1) earned the win by pitching six innings, striking out six, walking two, and allowing just two earned runs.

With the win, the WolfPack (35-20) earned a day off and will play the winner of #2 Parkland College (Champaign, IL) and #10 CCBC Essex (Baltimore, MD) at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
