#10 WolfPack make quick work of in-state rival Milwaukee Tech

Three-set win marks 34th consecutive victory over Stormers

MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College women's volleyball team took care of business Tuesday with a 3-0 sweep of in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College at H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium. The 25-17, 25-14, 25-13 victory extends the WolfPack win streak over the Stormers to 34 matches, including a current string of 20 in a row without dropping a set.

For the first time all season, sophomore Paige Hostetler was not at the top of Madison College kills column, as that honor belonged to freshman OH/MB Tianna Sackett. The former WolfPack soccer and basketball player smashed 15 kills and posted an impressive .619 attack percentage. Sackett has now surpassed double-digit kills in four of the last five matches, including three straight. She also finished with two aces and one solo block.

First year outside hitter Isabella Carrillo pounded out ten kills on 20 attempts for a .300 efficiency, while also leading the team with a pair of solo blocks.. The Hartford, Wisconsin, native now boasts four matches with at least ten kills. Hostetler, who still leads the country in total kills (335) and kills per set (4.93), finished with nine kills and a .267 hitting percentage, to go along with 14 digs and an ace. It's only the second match this season the 5'10" outside hitter failed to reach double-figure kills. Freshman Libby Ruhle added four kills in her third start of the season.

Second year setter Olivia Darkow tallied 26 assists, while freshman Caitlin West pitched in with 14. Darkow also served up a team-leading three aces. Libero Maddie Scalissi bookended the defensive effort with 16 digs, extending her streak of double-digit digs to six matches.

For the match, the WolfPack had 42 kills, 40 assists, nine aces, four blocks, and 57 digs. The home team ended with a team attack percentage of .326 after hitting a match-high .407 in the third and final set to finish off Milwaukee Area Technical College (3-12, 2-7) for the 87th time in 119 all-time meetings.

Madison College, which jumped back into the NJCAA Division III Poll at #10 just hours before the match, remain a half-game back of #7 Rock Valley College at the top of the North Central Community College Conference standings after the Golden Eagles dropped #8 Harper College in straight sets to move the Hawks two games behind in the loss column.
