RIVER GROVE, ILL. - The Madison College women's volleyball team made it five consecutive wins on Tuesday with a 3-0 sweep of Triton College. The WolfPack dominated the match with sets wins of 25-15, 25-12, 25-10 to also extend their head-to-head win streak to 20 straight since joining the North Central Community College Conference in 2009. The 'Pack has also never lost a set to the Trojans during the win streak.
The match was nearly decided from the service line as Madison College recorded a season-high 18 aces. Sophomore
Paige Alsum led the way with a career-best six, followed by five aces for fellow second year
Paige Hostetler. In all, seven different WolfPack players recorded an ace in the match.
Freshman MB/OH
Tianna Sackett paced the hitting attack with eight kills and a .533 attack percentage. Hostetler added six kills and hit .143. The offense was also keyed by a dozen assists for Darkow.
Defensively, second year libero
Maddie Scalissi collected ten of the team's 28 digs, and freshman
Isabella Carrillo had the team's only two blocks.
Overall, the WolfPack posted 21 kills and hit .246, highlighted by a .421 attack percentage in the third set.
**NOTE: Prior to Tuesday's match, it was decided that Madison College and Triton College would not make their cancelled match from September 11. The match will be deemed a No Contest, and Madison College will be awarded wins for their conference and region records.
